The following pictures are only a few of hundreds taken during the flooding and are only but a few of the areas where over 850 rescues were conducted.
This was an extrordinary situation that streched our resources to the limits. We coordinated assistance from private citizens from all parts of Texas with boats as well as the Army reserve center. The reserve center came to our assistance with a strike team of (LMTV)s High water vehicles. Our local Aldine ISD with the coordination by Jill Metcalfe were instrumental in the assistance of evacuations to shelters using 4 school busses. This all hands effort was very successful as we had some firefighters working 4 to 5 days straight without leaving our district. Our team effort and coordination was at its best and I could not expect anything less. Thank you to everyone and god bless.
